Spotlight on local businesses, communities, homes, individuals, etc. that are working to make Boiling Springs a beautiful and vibrant place to live, work, and play.
In the spotlight, we are sharing "Women-Owned Businesses (as featured in The Springs Newsletter, Vol. II, Iss.4).
Fundera.com says the US has 12.3 million women-owned businesses that generate over $1.8 trillion per year. 40% of all US businesses are women-owned and last year alone, women started 1,821 net new businesses every day.
Recently, the Town staff were working on a grant application. The parameters included getting support from women-owned businesses within the project area, which stretched from Machon Avenue to Holland Drive. A few came to mind, so we set down to make a list and we were blown away by the amount we had in such a small area (and we thought of even more throughout town!). So to support Women’s History Month (March), we wanted to spotlight a few women-owned businesses.
We’d love to hear from all of the other women-owned businesses throughout Boiling Springs. These submitted within the project area of our grant application were:
- Turner Trucking, Mary Turner
- Talk of the Town Salon, Cathy Creswell
- Magnolia Mill, Keelee Jones
- Bulldog Quik-Snak, Carmen and Madison McSwain
- Common Corner Nutrition, Bailee Jones
- The Mulberry Bush, Pamela Wray
- Pelican’s SnoBalls, Kelly Anderson
